Ramsdens have opened its first branch ever in a high footfall shopping mall; The Bridges in the centre of Sunderland.

In April 2008 Ramsdens acquired Symington's Jewellers in The Bridges, Sunderland. The branch is located near to Tesco, next door to the Carphone Warehouse.

The branch was re-branded Ramsdens4Cash and re-opened on Saturday 26th April, ahead of schedule.

The location is in complete contrast to most of the Ramsdens branches, Peter Kenyon CEO is optimistic about the new location "The Bridges is an exciting opportunity for Ramsdens, early signs show that the branch has been warmly received by The Bridges shoppers and I am extremely confident that this will continue."

Ramsdens is the first store to bring cheque cashing, pawnbroking, and scrap gold buying to The Bridges, Sunderland, allowing a wider audience to benfit from Ramsdens services. Situated near to Tesco, the branch is in a convenient location for the residents and shoppers of Sunderland.
