Ramsdens have expanded their Sheffield operations by acquiring a new shop at 50 Castle Square near the tram stops.

Ramsdens have relocated their small cheque cashing and loans until pay day business from Watson's Chambers into the new unit, creating two new jobs in the process.

The shop is a prominent site and there is no hiding what Ramsdens have to offer given the design of the shop facia. Pawnbroking loans and the purchase of unwanted gold jewellery feature heavily in the advertising. Operations Director, Peter Kenyon, commented “our ‘got gold get cash' initiatives have helped a lot of people get a loan against their cherished jewellery and many people just raise some cash from jewellery that is broken, twisted, dented or simply unwanted. With the gold price being high, we have never been lending more or paying more for gold than we are now.”

Whilst Ramsdens is the largest pawnbroker and cheque casher in the North East it is starting to have a greater presence in Yorkshire with branches in Halifax, Dewsbury, Leeds, Rotherham as well as Sheffield.
